I was able to remove the old stud and install the insert without pulling off the outer tie rod. Simply loosen the ball joint stud, loosen and remove old tie rod insert. Twist to expose bottom of knuckle and install insert. Reassemble with new parts and send it. Took me 15 min. Way more secure now.

I ordered these because my original RCC shanks stripped. The install only took about 20 minutes. It’s nice having the peace of mind that I can get replacement bolts at any hardware store
